The Gospel

The gospel is the good news (not good advice) of love, judgment of sin, redemption and reconciliation of a fallen creation to the Father, through the life, death, resurrection and future return of Jesus Christ , the Son of God who died to atone for the sin of man , past, present and future . It is the power of God for the salvation of all who believe, to receive eternal life with God. The gospel is the sole means of reconciling to God. The gospel is God’s explosive power that changes everything. We preach the gospel to believers and unbelievers with great hope and confidence. The gospel motivates believers through the riches of God ’s grace, not guilt.

The Purpose of Man

The purpose of man is to glorify God, enjoy his presence and make His name known. In practical terms man is to align with God’s mission as God enables through the gifts He bestows, through pursuit of holiness, through cultivating a personal relationship with God and engaging in loving transparent and authentic relationship s within His gospel community while drawing outsiders into this gospel community.

Implications of the Gospel

The gospel renews man through the power and work of the Holy Spirit manifested in both a growing faith and continuing repentance. It gives man freedom from the penalty and power of sin, from the presence of sin in the future. The Gospel continually turns the disciple from the desires of the flesh to produce fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:16 – 25) in both his personal and communal life.

Statement of Faith

1. Scriptures

We believe the Scripture both Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the divine and final authority for Christian faith and life. We believe the best method of interpretation of this Word is grammatico-historical exegesis, taking account of its literary forms and devices, and that Scripture is to interpret Scripture.

2. God

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect who eternally exists in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3. Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as the sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. He rose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven where at the right hand of the Majesty on high, He as our High Priest and Advocate makes intercession for us.

4. Holy Spirit

We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to convict men of sin, righteousness and of the judgment to come, regenerate believing sinners, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and effective service to God through the endowment of spiritual gifts.

5. Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God, male and female ordained for the procreation and advancement of humankind. Man fell into sin and now faces eternal death, but only through faith in Christ alone and regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and eternal life be secured.

6. Salvation

We believe the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and are regenerated and thus become Children of God.

7. Church

We believe the Church consists of all persons who obtain salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, and not by human works or merit.These persons are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the Head.

8. Second Coming

We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this blessed hope has a vital influence on the personal life and service of the believer.

9. Resurrection

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy of the Lord; of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.

10. Head of the Church

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and every local Church has the autonomous right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs or affiliate itself under its own denominational practices. including its practice of the ordinances and polity.
