    • Brokenness
    • Uncommon Communion
    • Servanthood as an Identity
    • Radical, Immediate Obedience

Introduction to the Video Series

EP1: Brokenness

God uses broken people who actively surrender to God and rely on Him for their assignments. Crawford differentiates between brokenness (which is redemptive) from woundedness.

EP2: Uncommon Communion

Crawford shares that every assignment from God is a call to intimacy with him. Leaders are transformed in the process of working the assignment, a celebration of God’s intervention.

EP3: Servanthood as an Identity

Leaders serve because they are servants. Servanthood as an identity is not servanthood as a strategy. Crawford stressed that the credibility of leaders is in direct relationship to the willingness to serve.

EP4: Radical, Immediate Obedience

Ephesians 2 informs that everyone is created for God’s good works. Are you aligning your life to God’s assignment? With obedience comes his presence and resources for the assignments.

Ask yourself this question: What character qualities define a godly leader?

Author Crawford Loritts answers this question with four simple words: brokenness, communion, servanthood, and obedience.

These four characteristics provide the framework for Leadership as an Identity. Examining each trait, Loritts undermines the pervasive and unbiblical assumptions about leadership.

Authentic Ministry offers practical guidance and spiritual nourishment for all who serve the church. Each of the nine chapters orients readers to the “one thing [that] is necessary” (cf. Luke 10:42)—abiding in Christ—while asking and answering questions both simple and profound: What is prayer? How should I respond to suffering? Who is my friend? What is theology? What does it mean to love?

The church is experiencing a leadership crisis. For every celebrity pastor exiting in the spotlight, there are hundreds of lesser-known pastors leaving in the shadows. Why are so many pastors leaving the ministry? Bestselling author Paul David Tripp suggests that lurking behind the failure of a pastor is a weak leadership community.

Turning to Scripture for guidance, Tripp presents readers with 12 leadership-community principles necessary for a gospel-centered leadership model.
